Moves & Vibes Excited to continue Zouk Master Class Series with International instructors this Summer! Join us for a day filled with fun workshops followed by zouk social! Please see Pre-Reqs to take this class. Everyone loved last intensive with Sofie Toris and we excited to have her back, this time with her partner Luciano. She travelled the world to be able to bring the best of latino dances into her native Prague. In 2006 she and her partner opened the first dance school in the country to focus on latino dances and her responsibilities extended from teaching, choreographing and performing to also running the dance school. She started to acquire her dance skills as a child with ballet, tap dance and ballroom dance. As a young adult, she continued studying scenic arts, Musical Theatre and besides contemporary, afro, jazz, tap, ballet and ballroom, she went on to study in Cuba to learn Cuban modern and folkloric dances. She continued her dance journey with a trip to Brazil where she learned zouk, samba de gafieira, samba no pé and forró. Although she lives in Europe now, she continues studying dance to be able to be a better dancer, a better dance teacher and performer and enrich the dance scene in whichever way she can.Since 2005 she has been active as:- an organizer (she is the co-founder of the Prague Zouk Congress, the Prague Zouk & Samba Congress, the founder of Bachata Sí! Festival and countless weekenders, bringing international artists to enhance the European dance scene),- a dance teacher (2006-2015 at her school DANCE PLANET. Dance styles: zouk, samba no pé, samba de gafieira, forró, bachata, salsa, ladies classes, core & balance classes, specified courses on dance technique, choreography etc.) and- a performer (as the main choreographer she has been running the dance company BRAZIL SHOW since 2005. The company focuses on Brazilian and other latino dances)Since 2015 she resides in Galicia, Spain and continues her work as a teacher, performer and choreographer.Luciano GomesA charismatic dancer who is responsible for establishing the zouk scene in the north of Spain.Originally from Brazil, he now resides in Galicia, Spain, where he teaches zouk, bachata andsalsa. During the past 16 years he has travelled the whole country spreading the magic ofzouk. Moves & Vibes is proud to present Master Level workshop series where Moves & Vibes or visiting International/National Instructors will provide master level instruction on specialty topics you may not have access to at regular classes. Use of a skeleton to understand anatomical placement and alignment will be used to enhance a students learning and a Q/A, demo, and hands on feedback will be presented.
