The Virgo Lounge Brand is a vehicle to promote and support independent artists thru live performances, radio promo and social media awareness. The Virgo Lounge meets the 2019 Soulfest Lounge will bring back Gwendolyn Collins, Alisha Glover and Mycah Chevalier. This year also brings Nadira Norjahan, Iisma and David Hammett. This is a show not to be missed, doors open at 7pm, showtime at 8pm Virgo Lounge Featured Artists GWENDOLYN COLLINS – CURATOR OF THE VIRGO LOUNGE |INTERNATIONAL INDEPENDENT RECORDING ARTIST | PROMOTER and INDIE ADVOCATE Gwendolyn Collins made her mark with her debut CD, Storytelling Side I, The Simple Things. She delivers jazzy, funk soul treating her audience to an effortless blend of genres, infused with her individual style of rich vocals and melodic harmonies. Recently she was nominated for Best Female Artist by Soultracks.com, Best Duo/Group with Iisma and Best Live Show London with #TheVirgoLounge UK SoulSessions. ALISHA GLOVER – SINGER | SONGWRITER | AUTHOR Coined as a divine muse by some, Seattle native Alisha has always been inspired by the fine arts. Since the tender age of six years old, Alisha has participated in a myriad of choirs and bands as both a vocalist and musician. With a gifted ear for music, Alisha’s lifetime of singing has enabled her voice to be very refined and trained. Alisha has opened for acts such as Rahsaan Patterson, 702, CeCe Peniston, Regina Belle, Miki Howard, Rachelle Ferrell, Jeane Carne, Norman Conners, Jeff Majors, and many others. In February 2017, she released her debut single entitled “Brother, Sister”, which is currently available for download from online stores and music streaming sites around the world. IISMA | SINGER | SONGWRITER Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, IISMA developed an interest in music at a very early age listening to mostly Salsa. Moving from Puerto Rico to the USA he became exposed to the R&B and Soul Scene recently performing with Gwendolyn Collins in Maryland (USA) and London (UK) during The Virgo Lounge UK SoulSessions. IISMA released his first single in 2018 and is working on his EP. MYCAH CHEVALIER | SINGER | SONGWRITER | ACTRESS | DANCER Blessed with an irresistible and soulful voice, Mycah’s music is in a class all her own. She has shared the stage with noted artists such as El DeBarge, Lyfe Jennings, The Whispers, Patti Labelle, Luther Vandross, JaRule, Arturo Sandoval, Debbie Allen, Frank McComb, Regina Belle & Maysa Leak to name a few. During the summer of 2014 Mycah released a remake of the Michael Franks/Brenda Russell classic "When I Give My Love To You", Featuring Kenny Wesley, which won the 29th Annual WAMA Award for Urban Contemporary Recording. Mycah is currently working on her sophomore solo album and is featured with Gwendolyn Collins in the upbeat tune “I Think I Like You” NADIRA NORJAHAN | SINGER | SONGWRITER | POET | AUTHOR Philadelphia native NADIRA NORJAHAN is a Soul Singer, Songwriter, Poet and Author presenting her brand of lyric, music and stories to the world. Songwriting, poetry and storytelling are where NADIRA NORJAHAN brings the story of real-life experiences to the forefront so that her fans can’t help but relate to the pains, the joys and really feeling her message. DAVID HAMMETT SINGER | SONGWRITER | VOCAL ASSISTANT Washington DC native David was influenced by his musical family at a very young age. David has graced the stage with his dynamic 1st tenor voice with acts such as Stephanie Mills, Vickie Winans, Teresa Griffin, CeCe Peniston and Melissa Morgan to name a few. Through his experiences as a vocal assistant, he has gained a different level of love for independent artistry and is due to release his first EP in September 2019.
