Join us in association with the Friendsof Art Park Alliance a NYC Parks and Recreation It's My Park event for their 1st annual AfriBembé Festival in El Barrio! The AfriBembé Festival in El Barrio, is a Pan-African cultural festival that celebrates the artistry, musicality, and creative expressions of the African Diaspora in El Barrio. Festival-goers will delight in a pan african food and artisan market, live music performances, a pop-up outdoor exhibition, street style fashion show, a host of art activities, and other surprises! We’ll also feature DJ’s bringing you the vibes from across the African diaspora and beyond. Performances + Sets from: We will have performances representing Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Honduras, Mali, South Africa, St. Vincent, and more. Our lineup includes Afro Domincano, Bohio Music, Chief Joseph Chatoyer Dance Company, Típica 73, Retumba, DJ Laureano, DJ AQ, more! Our DJ's will spin salsa, bachata, kompa, hip-hop, afrobeats, to gqom tracks!
