The Connection Director: Shirley Clarke. Music: Freddie Redd, Jackie McLean. 1961, (103 min) Clarke's improvisational film centers on eight drug addicts who have gathered in a Greenwich Village loft to await their connection. To pay for their drugs, they have allowed a would-be documentary filmmaker to photograph them.
