ABOUT FROM THE TOP:
Part listening party, part live demo, and hilarious talk about music, politics, and culture in between, From the Top explores contemporary 'black' music and its impact on culture (and America's impact on black music). Each month, our hosts - Greg Howard and Chinisha - break down a musical genre, sound, or song in Caveat’s version of your favorite basement ‘music room,’ featuring live demos from musicians, conversations with experts, drinking games, and a lot more.
From blues & soul to r&b, The Minneapolis Sound to hip-hop, New Jack Swing, rap, and beyond, From the Top explores the spaces, technology, economics, and people that have built the foundations for much of contemporary popular music & culture.
ABOUT CAVEAT LABS:Our producing team (Kate, Ben, Kylie, Chinisha, and Diana) builds new shows from scratch ALL THE DAMN TIME! We experiment with new formats, topics and talent, and before we launch them as Caveat Originals, they are Lab Shows. Caveat Lab Shows are a little less polished than our Caveat Originals - think of these as previews for the next big thing! We welcome your feedback, and would love to chat after the show.
REFUND POLICY: Tickets maybe be refunded up to 24 hours before the event. Within 24 hours we may take exchanges for other events at our discretion. No refunds after the event.
Venue is mixed seating and standing-room: arrive early to get a good seat!
