United Zouk is a Weekend full of workshops, social dancing and Sooo much Zouk!Charles EspinozaFrom: New York, NYCharles has a unique style, which is a mix of his extensive dance background. This type of fusion help dancers to be more body conscious. Developing the sensibility/care, partnership, and correct lead with someone are only a few of the many things that dancers who are used to dancing alone will learn. For the dancers who are more comfortable with partnering, their focus will be more towards achieving different grooves/musicality. He rediscovered that dance exist to liberate yourself from any limitations! Because of this he is constantly in search for new alternatives or in search for a dance that has no judgment/oppression that will continue with his study and passion towards dance.​Brad MecciaFrom: Knoxville, TNBrad has been teaching for over 8 years now, and in that time has trained with such Zouk Legends as Renata Peçanha in Brazil. His talent is apparent through his dancing and detailed instruction. Brad's PhD in biomedical engineering mixed with his all dance training gives him a well rounded view on Zouk. He has been all over the world for dance. Besides regularly traveling to congresses to teach and compete, he also is the creator and owner of the Armada Zouk company. The Armada Zouk is known for bringing in top instructors for the weekend Zouk/Lamba Cabin Retreats they host in Tennessee. _________________________Exact Schedule Details will be released closer to the event date. It is common to not use only the rhythm but also the pauses, melody and lyrics in the dance as well as utilize different dynamics in the timing. Brazilian zouk, you can see a close connection embrace and long graceful steps, strong hip movements, body isolations and upper-body torsions, wild spins and whip-like head movements.What kind of music can you dance Zouk to? In addition to Caribbean Zouk music - and ever increasingly, many other different types of music are played for dancing Brazilian zouk: kizomba and semba music, latin and oriental music, reggaeton, R'n'B, hiphop, dubstep, as well as all kinds of pop music. There are many active DJs remixing hit tracks and layering them with a zouk beat, catering to all tastes and styles of zouk danced around the globe. The variety of music makes Brazilian zouk dynamic and constantly evolving. More Info below.
