Kern County Scottish Games & Gathering 2019

Make plans to come out and enjoy a day full of fun for everyone at the Kern County Scottish Games and Gathering at the Kern County Fairgrounds. There is something for every member of your family! Visit the Tea Room, enjoy the Scotch Tasting, listen to traditional Celtic Music and Celtic Rock Bands, find out about your clan (Scottish Ancestors), try Scottish fare including a banger, haggis, and a cold pint, watch the herding dog demonstration, take the kids to the petting zoo, watch the re-enactors and learn about ancient times in Scotland, marvel at the heavy Scottish Athletics competition (including men and women in kilts throwing items like cabers - which resemble telephone poles!), take the kids to the Kids Athletic Area and let them have some fun, become a member of the Kern County Scottish Society, visit the vendor area and find a kilt in your tartan or buy the kids a wooden sword, enter the raffle to win great prizes, watch and listen to the Pipe Bands and the pipe and drum competition, watch dancers and learn a step or two, enter the Haggis Hurl or Bonny Knees contest, and make sure you're there for the Opening Ceremonies to see the Massed Pipe Bands lead the March of the Clans.
