The Money Mindset 6-Week Workshop

It’s 2019 and it’s time to take our finances back! Are you ready to get ahead on your bills and stop living pay check to pay check? Are you overwhelmed by the amount of debt you have? Do you feel like you’re in a hole, but lack the resources to get yourself out? Do you just want to start 2019 with good budgeting strategies? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this class would be perfect for you! This is the first class in a series of classes aimed at helping women understand their finances and establish healthy money habits in 2019. My name is Rebecca and I am going to show you how I bought my first home at the age of 23 years old. My ultimate goal is to give women the tools to long-term success; I want you to sustain wealth and achieve your future goals. My class sizes will be limited to 8 women at a time. The class size is limited in order to allow time for women to ask question. This will also give me more opportunity to provide one on one support. Let’s make this year one of growth, monumental blessings, and money making mindsets. If you’re as serious about pursuing a debt free life, then continue reading more about this series. Each course will last 2 hours. I will provide refreshments and the materials/resources needed for success. Some materials will vary based on the course you decide to register for. I’m so confident that you will enjoy my classes, that if you are not satisfied with your first class with me I will give you a 100% refund. Period. Your ticket will fund all of the materials necessary to facilitate the course. Each course will focus on a specific topic that I have found to not only maximize my income, but also make income for me! 2019 – Take your Finances Back Course List: January 12th- Money Mindset: Setting a Budget In this class, I will go over detrimental ways that we lose money every year and how we can change the way we look at money to present this from happening. In addition, having a working budget is fundamental to understanding where your money goes every month. For example, have you ever had $50 in your pocket, then later wonders if it got legs and walked off? That was me before I set my budget! The goal is for you to walk out of the class understanding what takes priority and then how much money you should be allocating every month. Lastly, we will go over a variety of money making strategies and challenges that you can implement throughout the year. Refreshments Served: Tea, coffee, veggie tray, queso, guacamole, salsa and chips. Resources Provided: Expandable cash holder that we will label during class for cash budgeting; budget excel worksheet printout (handed out in class) and digital (sent by email); Budget tracking worksheet printout (handed out in class) and digital (sent by email); print outs of my real budget with real numbers; money mindset tips; Money challenges to do in 2019 checklist. January 26th- Money Moves: Understanding Debt + Paying it off! We all have debt in one way shape or form, right? Right. Debt is a sad reality of the so called American Dream. In this class, I will tackle your debt head on. We will be doing the difficult task of sitting down with your debt, understanding how to organize your priority loans, and establishing a pay-off plan for 2019. I know how hard it is to sit down with your debt. I have had to do it with family members and even force myself to. It isn’t easy, but together we will tackle that debt. Refreshments Served: Tea, coffee, veggie tray, hummus, and pitta bread. Resources Provided: Liabilities, assets, and net worth worksheet printout (handed out in class) and digital (sent by email); Understanding interest and organizing your debt handout; Debt payoff methods handout. February 9th – Money Safety Net: Building an Emergency Fund & Hefty Savings Account I am a strong believer in letting your money make money for you! So why not apply this same rational to things that you use every day like your checking account? In this class, I will be dispelling some common money myths by offering my students the opportunity to get a raw look into what could happen if they lost everything. This class is vital if you don’t have at least one month of expenses saved. This is a judgement free zone! I’m here to help you tell your money where you want it to go. I will start by showing you the best high interest accounts out there and explaining why some may be better than others. Taking money out every month for emergencies and sinking funds (saving gradually for an upcoming expense) should come naturally to you after this class. Refreshments Served: Tea, coffee, veggie tray, smoked salmon dip & crackers Resources Provided: Emergency fund breakdown worksheet printout (handed out in class) and digital (sent by email); Savings account worksheet printout (handed out in class) and digital (sent by email); Emergency items you need to have in your home handout. February 23rd – Money Reality Check: Couponing for Beginners + How to Live within your Means If someone would’ve told me to live frugally 4 years ago, I would have laughed at them. Now I understand why the wealthy stack their money rather than spend it. In this class, I will go over some money saving tips that you can apply in your everyday life: How to find sales, steals, and penny items; How I save 50% or more couponing at stores like dollar general, walgreens, CVS, and family dollar; How I started a stockpile. There is a bunch to know, but I will make sure that you walk out with the tools that you need to get more for your dollar. We’re going to make that dollar stretch! Refreshments Served: Ginger ale, tea, coffee, Pizza BOGO! Resources Provided: List of websites and apps that save you money; Tips that everyone should know to save money at the store; Other opportunities to save other than of Black Friday; Organizing receipts worksheet printout (handed out in class) and digital (sent by email); Couponing for beginners printout (handed out in class) and digital (sent by email); List of items you should always stockpile. March 16th - Money Approach: Passive Income Strategies – How your Money can Pay you Back One of my goals in 2018 was to establish passive income that paid me without me having to do much in return. In this class, we will go over several passive income strategies that will help your money pay you back. Passive income is “earnings derived from a rental property, limited partnership or other enterprise in which a person is not actively involved” (Investopedia). I love passive income because it can be used to fund your life or be saved! Instead of focusing on penny pinching, you can spend your time on wealth distribution and that is the ultimate goal of this class. Wealth distribution. We will also go over some lucrative side hustles and talk about the pros and cons of some common ones. Refreshments Served: Ginger ale, tea, coffee, baked potato bar! Resources Provided: Passive income goals worksheet printout (handed out in class) and digital (sent by email); List of passive income sources; Steps to buying a home and what to look for in a home; List of profitable side hustles; Where to put your money handout. March 30th – Money Growth: Investing and Establishing Good Credit Our last class! We will be discussing how to invest, where to invest, the difference between high, medium, and low risk investing, whether you should get a financial advisor, how to get the most out of your 401K, and ways to invest: index funds, RothIRA’s, IRA’s, individual stocks, companies and businesses. I made this the last class because you will see a little bit from every previous class tied into this one. This class encompasses the entire goal of this training course, which is to diversify your income, maximize your income, and distribute your wealth. The more sources of wealth you have the more stable your income. It’s similar to this analogy: What if a desert only had one source of water? All of the animals would come to that source to drink. Think of the animals as your bills and expenses. The more animals around the single water source, the more likely for a predator to catch prey. Think of the prey as your lenders. Do you ever feel like all your bills come out at the same time? Me too. Lenders will take advantage of late payments by taking on ridiculous late fees. I want you to avoid this by having multiple sources of income. Goal: Your water source will never run dry! Refreshments Served: Ginger ale, tea, coffee, BARIO Nacho Bar! Resources Provided: Ways to invest handout; How to invest worksheet printout (handed out in class) and digital (sent by email); Money goals worksheet printout (handed out in class) and digital (sent by email); Desert analogy worksheet printout (handed out in class) and digital (sent by email); Long term: Where do I see myself in 10 years worksheet & life map packet (handed out in class) and digital (sent by email). Additional FUN: I will be raffling off $100 cash during this class! Only 8 people in a class means you have a great chance at winning. Important Notes: Women only please. Please use a valid email upon registering for each class. I will be using this email to send you class notes to review. Class notes will provide you with information that you should bring to class and things you should think about before entering class. Review what is needed for each class carefully before you arrive. I will also send the class location to your email after you have purchased your ticket. When the class is full, it is FULL. I’m sorry, but in order to provide the best classroom experience for the women taking this course I must limit the number of individuals who can register. No personal details about your finances or otherwise will be necessary for this class unless you wish to disclose that information. The only personal information I need from you would be any special dietary considerations or allergies. Please arrive on time and be prepared to take notes. More Info below.
