Resisdance X Dj Bianca Oblivion: Latinx Dj Workshop

RESIS'DANCE X DJ BIANCA OBLIVION Based on high demand, Resis'Dance is hosting another DJ workshop before the end of this year, in collaboration with Mexican/US DJ & Producer Bianca Oblivion for Latin American female & non-binary people. With the support of Movimientos, a Latin-American non-profit organisation, Resis'Dance is reaching out to Latinx female & non-binary people in the UK that are passionate about music and would love to learn how to use the decks and the technalicality that comes with it to their advantage. Our aim is to teach a variety of skills, some of these include; technical set up for DJs, how to use CDJs, DJ software and performance. The workshop is highly practical, and all participants will be mixing and practising their skills. Participants will also learn how to find and add to their music collection, how to get their mixes to an audience and working your way into the industry. There are two time slots available: DJ Workshop 13.00 PM - 5.00 PM DJ Workshop 26.00 PM -8.00 PM DJ GIN (RESIS'DANCE) Co-founder of Resis’dance and Goldsnap and Project Director of Hackney Carnival’s first QTIPOC stage: Faggamuffin Bloc Party. GIN has been DJing for over 6 years and has graced the stage at Southbank, Tate Britain, the V & A, Dalston Superstore, as well as notorious parties such as Pxssy Palace, Lovebox and Secret Garden Party. GIN spins a great variety of genres, some are R&B, Hip Hop, UK Funky, UK Garage, House and Disco. DJ BIANCA OBLIVION As co-founder Los Angeles’ Club Aerobics—a label, DJ crew, and NTS Radio show—Bianca Oblivion is one of the most talented DJs the city has to offer. A near constant presence in clubs and warehouses, her sound plays with musical stylings across the house spectrum, East Coast club forms, UK bass, Caribbean anthems and Afro-Brazilian rhythms. Through her label and DJ presence, she is nurturing exciting new club sounds and is seen as someone who is ahead of the curve and supportive of the scene. Her mixes for Diplo & Friends, Beats1, NTS, Worldwide FM, NRK P3 and Reprezent have showcased Oblivion’s talents behind the decks, while her edits and remixes have mixed together ballroom, baile funk, club, and dembow with remarkable ease. In addition to her own sets, she also supports Princess Nokia as her tour DJ. Whether it be DJing, radio or production, she is a hugely influential figure in LA and beyond. OTHER PARTIES MOVIMIENTOS Movimientos is the most active Latin American events organisation in the UK. We are a live music events programmer, promoter, artist agency and record label and we have broad depth of experience working with a high profile network of venues, festivals and partners in the UK and Europe. We are dedicated to bringing you the best and newest Latin American live music and reinvigorating the Latin music scene in the UK.We aim to broaden perceptions of Latin music beyond mainstream genres by representing artists who are bringing brand new fusions of music to the stage; including artists with African, Andean, Caribbean and Spanish influences, from Folk roots, to Latin Jazz, Salsa and Samba, to Cumbia, Ska, Flamenco, the urban beats of Hip Hop and Reggaeton and even more electronic and experimental sounds.
