A Vernacular Jazz Dance Workshop Competition Weekend in Atlanta, GA! Atlanta Varsity Showdown (AVS) is a Workshop Weekend dedicated to growing the lindy hop, charleston, balboa, solo jazz and other vernacular jazz dance community. Located in Atlanta, GA, this weekend features classes on three different track levels, social dances, competitions, live music, and fun! AVS Highlights 2018 is bringing you more than ever! Weve got: World-class instructors Popular Live Bands Killer DJs Throwdown competitions Social dances every night!Learn Grow as a Lindy Hopper! Lindy hop and other vernacular jazz classes are taught by the AVS2017 team of instructors in three different track levels. Level placements are determined by a simple track level audition for those wishing to be in track 3. AVS2017 is also bringing back our popular lunch and learns. Lunch and learns are talks on a range of topics from Lindy Hop history, to musicality, to dance health and everything in between! These talks are open to any attendee. Show Your Stuff in Competitions Showdown throwdown in friendly competitions aimed to highlight the best in everyone!! Whooping and cheering for one another is encouraged!
