MOSCOW FESTIVAL BALLET Saturday, January 13th, 2018 @ 8:00pm *Moscow Festival Ballet is a part of the CONTEMPORARY DANCE SERIES* - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - [ABOUT THE SHOW] Sergei Radchenko brings together the highest classical elements of the great Bolshoi and Kirov Ballet companies in an independent new Russian classical ballet company. The Moscow Festival Ballet has taken extensive international tours in the past decades, and will be returning to the United States on our very own stage this year! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - [ABOUT THE COMPANY] The company was founded in 1989 as the Moscow Festival Ballet under the direction of famous dancer of the Bolshoi Theatre, Sergei Radchenko (Honored Artist of Russia). The first independent company of classical ballet began to develop rapidly and began touring in many countries. In this regard, it was decided to create extra troupe Russian National Ballet Theatre under the direction of Elena Radchenko, soloist dancer of Mariinsky- Kirov Theatre, and Bolshoi Theatre. At this time, both the troupe successfully work within the company Russian National Ballet S.Radchenko more than 25 years. With solid knowledge of classical ballet and character dance, combined vast performance experience, a strong will and infinite dedication art of the ballet, the company gained notoriety, respect and a following of audiences around the world. Each company tours as a smaller group, because one of their goals is to reach audiences in smaller places, not just large cities. They wish to give people the opportunity to experience classical Russian ballet, one of Russia’s great cultural heritages as passed down to them through the ages. The repertoire presents many famous ballet masterpieces: "Swan Lake", "Sleeping Beauty", "Don Quixote", "Giselle", "Carmen Suite", "La Bayadere", "The Nutcracker," "Cinderella," "Coppelia" "Les Sylphides", "Romeo and Juliet" as well as a wide range of concert numbers of Russian and foreign world classics.
