We are happy to embelished Esquina Tango's walls with art work by Rachel Martin aka Rachel Verdemar Here is the night' itinerary: 8pm Art Show by Rachel Martin with empanadas and alfajores! 9pm Tango crush class by Gustavo Simplis 9:45pm Milonga with DJ John Turci-Escobar About the artist: Rachel Martin is an Austin-based artist, printmaker and performance artist who began to study and dance Argentine tango in 2009. She is Assistant Dean, Student Affairs of the College of Fine Arts at UT Austin, where she has also taught performance art. The series “Tango Ghosts,” completed over the summer of 2017, is an homage to the tango composers, musicians and singers Rachel loves, as well as a remembrance of her experiences dancing in the milongas of Buenos Aires.
