No experience or partner needed. 2-4 pm each day. $65 with pre-registration or $35/day at the door. More info & registration: [hidden] 3 TUESDAYS, July 11, 25 & August 8, 7:30-9:30 pm LA PROPUESTA = Class | Practica | Exploration | Innovation * July 11: Leader & Follower Sacadas – Technique, timing of the lead & follow, combinations * July 25: Structure of Follower Forward & Back Ochos in different sizes and speeds, with varying degrees of rotation, and various accompaniments by the leader * August 8: Improvisation: Understanding Tango Structure – Which steps are possible within the tango embrace. Creating interesting combinations without necessarily adding elements like sacadas, boleos, ganchos Partner rotation not required. Feel free to come with or without a partner. $35/workshop. $90/all 3 with pre-registration. Register: [hidden] 3 TUESDAYS, July 18, August 1 & 15 Women’s Technique with Carla, 7:30-9:30 pm * July 18: Physical Organization - Starting with how the feet need to work, and from there, organizing the entire body up to the head. How to find ease and comfort dancing in heels, and how to use that to make the dance flow better: including standing comfortably on one foot, without losing balance or control, and how to move through space. How to find a beautiful aesthetic through solid technique and functionality. * August 1: Pivots – Different degrees of rotation. Learning how to hold ourselves on axis while receiving the impulse to pivot. Figuring out how to respond first and foremost with the base leg so that the free leg can relax. * August 15: Structure of the Giro (turn). Mechanics of Boleos.
