About Juanito Pascual: National Public Radio calls Jonathan "Juanito" Pascual "one of the hottest flamenco guitarists to emerge in recent years." A virtuoso player and original composer, he has forged a unique style blending an array of styles from rock to jazz to classical, together with his mastery of traditional and contemporary flamenco. Juanito holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Boston's New England Conservatory, where he now directs an intensive summer flamenco workshop. He maintains an active touring schedule including recent performances in Holland, Panama, Mexico, Spain and Canada in addition to frequent U.S. concerts dates. He has collaborated with a lengthy list of top flamenco artists from Spain and the U.S. in addition to collaborations with such diverse artists as Grammy-winners soprano Dawn Upshaw, bassist John Patittucci (of Chick Corea's band), pianist Danilo Perez (of the Wayne Shorter Quartet) and percussionist Jamey Haddad (of Paul Simon's group). Juanito has released 2 CDs of all original flamenco compositions, Cosas en Comun (2003) and Language of the Heart (2009) and is celebrating the January 2011 release of a new flamenco method book The Total Flamenco Guitarist by Alfred Publishing. His music has been heard in film, radio and television around the world and he made his on screen debut with a brief appearance in the 2009 film The Pink Panther 2 with Steve Martin. About Genoveva Originally from Austin, Texas, Genoveva (Genevieve Guinn) began her dancing career in 1993 with Sylviana Keprta. Keprta was a huge influence; Genoveva has vivid memories of her first class with Sylviana and how it ignited her passion for Flamenco. After 6 years of training, and studying in Sevilla and Madrid, Genoveva formed her first company and presented her work at the 1er Festival del Desierto in Real de Catorce, Mexico. Trained by world renowned flamenco artists like Cristobal Reyes, Jose Maya, Alfonso Losa, and Maria Juncal, Genoveva has performed regularly at Al-Andalus and Tablao Las Carboneras in Madrid and as a company member with “Compañía Maria Juncal". In 2003 she was chosen as an apprentice for the "Gitana Cortés Company" under the direction of Joaquín Cortés. In 2004 Genoveva was invited to teach in Taipei,Taiwan at the International Dance Conference. 2005 saw Genoveva perform as a soloist at Gitanerías in Mexico City. Genoveva has performed as a soloist throughout the United States, Spain, and Mexico and shared the stage with artists such as "La Tati", “La Truco”, Carmela Greco, and Genara Cortes. Genoveva was the Assistant Artistic Director for FlamencoAparicio Dance Company in Washington DC under the direction of Edwin Aparicio from 2006 through 2010. 2006 marked Genoveva's Broadway debut in New York City and in 2007 she was the choreographer for the GALA Hispanic Theatre’s highly praised production of Frederico Garcia Lorca’s "Bodas de Sangre", directed by the acclaimed Hugo Medrano. In 2009 Genoveva was an invited solo artist at the Ford Amphitheatre's "Forever Flamenco: LA Ole!" in Los Angeles and a featured performer at The Kennedy Center in DC. In 2011 Genoveva moved back to Austin Texas and founded The Pink Flamenco Dance Studio providing classes to children, youth and adults. In 2014 she returned as a soloist to The Kennedy Center as well as performing in Fuego Flamenco X at Gala Hispanic Theater. Genoveva has most recently perfomed as a soloist at the Teatro Nacional Ruben Dario.
